“Tucked in a plaza off of MacArthur Blvd, just into suburban Maryland outside of DC, Fish Taco has been a local godsend, also located only minutes from our bar-study location. Although we only utilized it once during that fateful summer, we have never forgotten Fish Taco and frequent the place any chance we get.
Fish Taco has an extensive menu–you do not need to like fish to find something that you’ll devour. With appetizers ranging from guacamole and chips (delicious) to chicken tortilla soup, you could fill up without ever speaking the word “taco.” You would be missing out but its possible nonetheless. You could also choose from any of the non-fish-taco tacos: chicken, barbacoa, carnitas, and steak all litter the menu. There are also quesadillas, get-your-money’s-worth burritos, salads, and rice bowls. Talk about food the recipe for food envy.
Our eyes and stomachs always lead us to the tacos. The grilled fish taco, to be exact. With chile lime mayo, queso cotija, mango pico, and cabbage, we cannot say no. Advertise habanero hot sauce on the register? Really cannot say no.
We often opt for a fresh salad on the side with at least one of our plates because the lemon dressing offers a fresh, crisp bite during the summer. It’s also fun to mix all of the juices and left-over habanero sauce into the salad 🙂
BUT, because there are two of us, we can also get rice and beans. Not as refreshing on a hot day, but Fish Taco makes a mean black bean and rice combo. Also fun to mix the juices.
So, next time you’re in suburban Maryland (really, it’s not far) and hungry check out Fish Taco. Even if you’re not hungry or in the area, Fish Taco is worth the trip.”
